Before there was a store called The Charlotte, there was our sister, Charlotte.
She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a Mimi, a friend—and a woman who made a life she loved in Monterey, Tennessee.
Charlotte was the reason we found our way here. A few years ago, she brought the four of us sisters together in business in this little community that had become so important to her.
Monterey loved Charlotte, and Charlotte loved Monterey right back.
After we lost Charlotte, Sharon and Janet carried on what we had started together. Over time, our little shop grew and evolved. We moved, expanded our offerings, and watched it become something all its own.
And when it was time to give that next chapter a new name, there really was only one that felt right.
The Charlotte.
Her portrait has a place right at the front of our shop, near the cash wrap. It’s a little reminder every day of the woman who brought us to this community in the first place.
This little shop has always been about more than what’s on the shelves. To us, it’s about family. Community. Connection. And carrying forward a little piece of someone you love.
We think Charlotte would be pretty tickled by all of it.
And on a Sunday, that feels like a story worth telling.
