Step inside our Dry Eye Spa in Montgomery. It's a quiet, calm room designed for one thing: helping your eyes feel like yours again.

What a visit here looks like:
• A detailed look first. We use specialized equipment to evaluate your tear film, meibomian glands, and overall eye surface.
• A plan built for you, targeting the specific factors behind your dryness.
• Lumenis technology when it's the right fit: OptiLight IPL, OptiPLUS radiofrequency, and OptiLIFT.
• Gentle in-office lid hygiene, plus an at-home routine and nutrition guidance to keep comfort going between visits.

Stacey Plank, a licensed optician since 1998, guides every guest through the consultation and treatment experience. And when something calls for medical care beyond the spa, we'll help you coordinate with the right eye care provider.

Optics designs its frames in California and handcrafts them in Japan: clean acetate shapes that wear easily every day, and featherweight titanium made from aerospace-grade Japanese titanium using a flat-sheet process. Press Eyewear was founded in New York City by Jeff Press, an optical-industry veteran who wanted to make frames real people actually want to wear. Every Press frame is crafted in Japan in Mazzucchelli M49 acetate, with pure titanium for the metal components. Clean lines, thoughtful proportions, no gimmicks. Dry eye is rarely just one thing.

For a lot of people it's a mix: inflammation along the lids, oil glands that have thickened and stopped flowing, and lower lids that have loosened so the blink doesn't fully close. That's why more drops alone often stop helping.

At our Dry Eye Spa, each Lumenis technology has a different job:
• OptiLight IPL targets the inflammation behind meibomian gland dysfunction and softens hardened oil.
• OptiPLUS radiofrequency adds deeper, targeted heat to help the glands flow again.
• OptiLIFT gently tones the muscles around the lower lids to support a fuller, more effective blink.

Not everyone needs all three. Some patients do beautifully with IPL alone; others benefit from adding RF or OptiLIFT. It starts with an evaluation of your tear film, glands, lid tone, and blink, and your plan is built around what we find.

Throw away roll-up sunglasses given away at every dilated eye exam for the last 40 years has made their debut at the runway show this year. Don’t worry if you didn’t get invited to Fashion Week this year, just schedule your next eye exam and we’ll make sure you get a pair. (Ps: this is why I never trust a clothing brand to make eyewear. Founder-owned and designed luxury eyewear brands respect their customers and product too much to do something like this)

A lot of people picture dry eye treatment as something you have to recover from. At our Dry Eye Spa, it really isn't.

OptiLight IPL: each session takes about 10 to 15 minutes, and most patients go right back to their normal activities. Some feel mild warmth or slight redness afterward, which typically fades within a few hours. A standard course is four sessions spaced about a month apart, and many patients notice improvement after the first or second.

OptiLIFT: about 14 minutes per session, 7 minutes per side. Patients describe it as a gentle tingling or mild warmth along the lower lids. No downtime, and you can even put your makeup back on right after. The protocol is four sessions, one week apart.

Every plan starts with a consultation where we look at your tear film, your meibomian glands, your lids, and your blink, so your treatment fits what's actually going on.

Dry eye care has changed more in five years than in decades.

Not long ago, the options were mostly artificial tears and punctal plugs. Today there's FDA-approved IPL therapy, radiofrequency treatment, and dynamic muscle stimulation, and the research pipeline is still moving.

What's on the horizon: newer lipid-based drops that target the oily layer of the tear film to slow evaporation. Combination protocols pairing IPL with RF (OptiPLUS) and muscle stimulation (OptiLIFT), which are showing better outcomes than any single treatment alone. And a January 2026 study found IPL improved tear film stability across all age groups, with younger patients improving the most. Early care may bring the best long-term results.

At our Dry Eye Spa, we stay on top of these developments and keep evaluating new technologies as they become available, so your plan reflects today's options, not yesterday's.
