Some interesting Sewing history.

THE SEWING NEEDLE - An Origin Story
Needles for sewing have been around for thousands of years. Some say 40,000 yet others say closer to 60. Back then most needles did not have an eye. The bone, antler or tusk needles tended to have notches or a rough texture to grab the thread or more likely - thin strips of animal hide.
Eyed needles became the norm around 25,000 years ago. This made sewing so much easier that the practice soon began influencing culture and evolution.
Suddenly, folks were no longer simply sewing hides together to wrap up in to stay warm. Folks began fashioning sleeves, head holes, fastener straps etc. They even started sewing to adorn a garment with family crests, clan emblems, religious symbols and such.
Sewing not only ushered in fashion, sewing was also partly responsible for human migration from warm climates to colder climates.
Talk about moving the needle!
