Growing up I was the little girl that had a baby doll & played mommy, pretending to give birth, feeding, changing & taking care of my baby. Well, motherhood happened for me quicker than I had planned & at 17 I married my high school sweetheart & had my first son. At 23 I had my second son & got a taste of being a stay-at-home mom. I enjoyed waking up, making breakfast, taking my oldest to school &
doing parent participation in all activities - just being there whenever needed. Eventually I had to return to work & learned that I like administrative work & helping people. Even though I loved my work, I still had this dream that one day I could stay home & be there whenever my family needed me. I tried different direct selling companies & in 2010 I was at a craft show & smelled something amazing... It reminded me of when I was a kid & chewing my favorite Hubba Bubba watermelon gum! I looked & finally found it & to my surprise it was not anything I could eat. I loved burning candles & smelling them when I walked into a room but this product was something I just plugged in, put a couple of cubes in & didn’t need fire to make it smell good -I was intrigued! Right then I saw a possibility of my dream becoming a reality. So, I started on my journey, my dream..then it all came crashing down. After 16 years of marriage my husband left & filed for divorce. I found myself in a state of panic, living a life of a single mom, finding out who I was & who I wanted to be while finding a new place that I could afford. I took a long hard look at what I really wanted to do with the opportunity I had in my hand. Over the next year, I worked to take care of me & my boys knowing I wanted that dream & in the process I found love & marriage again. Over the next several years I worked & started to see my dream become more & more of a reality. In 2013 I lost my job & found out I was pregnant with my 3rd child - a daughter. This was it, it was now or never. My husband & I sat down & decided this was my time to live my dream. 7 years & one more daughter later (11 months apart to the day, my last surprise baby) I am right where I want to be & continuing to climb! Through the ups and downs, births & deaths, I was there with my family without having to worry if I had enough sick or vacation time or if I could take off work. I’ve also been able to homeschool my girls, be a part of who they want to be when they grow up, & watch my boys live their lives, while still showing up for anything they need. Scentsy is not just my business, it’s a part of my dream & the people I meet are a part of my family.
