The idea for the store came about during a semester off from college for Tyler, when he saw a need for a men's clothing store in the area, as there was not a store between Charlotte and Statesville carrying the same or similar clothing. is mother knew this void must be filled, so they partnered to bring a men's store to the area! When Tyler graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2016, the pair knew that to grow the business and better serve customers, they needed to expand to a larger location, which took the store from the original Davidson location to the Langtree Lake Norman shopping and dining village. The change in name accompanied the change in location, as they felt it fit the new store better with the expansion of tailored clothing collections. In the store, you will find classically styled clothing from names such as Hickey Freeman, Samuelsohn, Southwick, Jack Victor, Robert Talbott, Peter Millar, Gitman Brothers, Alden Shoes, Over Under Clothing, Filson, Barbour, Zanella, and several others. Providing clothing of such caliber along with unparalleled customer service gives Hampton's the feeling of times past: where customers may first come for the clothing, but return for the friendship.
