Simply Perfect Smocking - A Virtual Class to create stunning stitches! Saturday, February 26 9AM - noon, Pacific Time

I want my smocking stitches to have even tension, smooth untangled threads, and correct placement.

This 3 hour class takes a deep dive into the the techniques that I use to perfect my smocking stitches for stunning results. *A note – this class is not a Learn How to Smock class (3 hours is not long enough for that). You should have a working knowledge of how to do the cable and trellis stitches.
You will need a pleated doodle cloth (it can be a practice cloth from another project), 2-3 colors of stranded floss, and your favorite smocking needle (I like 7 or 8 Embroidery/Crewel or 7 Sharps).

I will be recording the class so that you can rewatch (or of you want to take the class and you are unable to make the live class) and will post it in the private facebook group that I will create for the class members. The fb group will last for 4 weeks – you will have access to the class recording and I will monitor for any questions during that time, as well as looking at any pictures you want to post. That way you will have some feedback after you have had some time to practice.
If you have any questions, just email me at [email protected] and I will be happy to answer your queries!

I look forward to seeing you there!
Happy Stitching!

Clara - a Sleeveless Dress with Liberty of London accents. Constructed with 100% cotton pique’, it has pintucks on the front bodice, and then is accented with shaped bias and bullion daisies. Liberty of London is used for the collar, the bias strips, piping, and a detachable sash. The dress has piping accents on the collar, the waist, and the armholes. One of my favorite things about this class is teaching how to insert piping in the armholes with a smooth seam and no bulk at the underarm. This technique provides a couture finish that enables the dress to wear beautifully! This is a lovely project to have for a summer wardrobe!

Dates are the first 3 Saturdays in March - 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, from 9am - noon Pacific Time. I will be recording this, in case you can not make all 3 classes.

This is offered through the Smocking Arts Guild of America
You must be a member of SAGA to join. Once you log in to your member area, their is a registration link.

I hope to see you there!
Happy Stitching,

If you get it in your local area..... Fit 2 Stitch, a PBS show from Peggy Sagers is starting their new season. I am on episode #805 with Smocking, and #809 with embroidery. We missed the smocking in our area - they preempted the regular shows because of fundrasing :(
Depending on where you live, they should be scheduled some time at the end of May or June.
