 Hopefully you were following along, and remember what this looked like before, so now let’s talk about the after…
This is a 1960-70 vintage piece that I refinished in a sweet southern Palmetto green, aged for depth with beautiful gold detailing and textured drawer faces, just the right amount of vintage character.
The detail work was a labor of love, but so worth it.
Perfectly versatile — use it as an elegant writing desk or pair it with the ornate gold mirror to create a stunning vanity. 💚
Drawers are clean and in excellent working condition. (Mirror 18x21)

I do want to note, I have the matching eight drawer dresser with mirror; I will be working on that next. They will be an exact match… although they are a matching set, I will be selling them separately.
The mirror is very striking; thick frame, immaculate mirror, and ornate.

I am happy to be bringing you this elegant, vintage, oak cabinet today. It has been thoughtfully restored to preserve its character while giving it a fresh, timeless look.

This piece has been re-stained in a warm, rich wood tone that beautifully showcases the natural oak grain. The cabinet doors were refinished with a durable, high-quality paint, then lightly distressed to add depth. Gold gilding accents were added to highlight the details and give the piece a subtle touch of elegance.

Inside, you’ll find ample storage with adjustable shelving. The top cabinet has the most beautiful lead, beveled glass doors that would make this the perfect display for pottery, books, glassware, baskets, or your favorite collectibles.
For an extra special touch, (as seen here) a simple rechargeable LED puck light (available online) would beautifully illuminate the interior for ambiance (puck light not included).

While my furniture friends are waiting for the latest piece to come out of the shop, I thought I would post my new kitchen design in the interim.
I went from a very Italian renaissance kitchen design, to a European grandma vibe 🤭 this is actually the third room that I have decorated in this style, although it’s not for everyone, I’m enjoying it.
It’s warm, comfortable and so nostalgic.
I roughed up a 1970s vintage buffet, gave it a little staining TLC and new hardware; I’m just so tickled at where it landed.
My oval table is an early 1900s American Oak drop leaf farm table. I left it just as is, wear, tear, cracks and all; in my world, we call that character 😉

Happy July! I wanted to share a sneak peek at what is in the studio ready for its rehab.
 I’ve said it 100 times, and I don’t mind saying it again; they just do not make furniture like this anymore.
This is a solid wood, beveled lead glass cabinet and aside from some minor repairs and a refinished update, It is an excellent condition.
After the transformation, I will share all of the specific details of this particular cabinetry…

Happy Sunday Friends and Shabby Chic Designs & Decor by Janene followers… I hope that you are all surviving this very wintry winter 🥶 ❄️
While I am on my winter hiatus from the studio, that is the time I focus on my own personal house projects. I am doing a major decorating redesign in my kitchen, going from Italian Renaissance, to a very warm, cozy, French cottage vibe.
On my travels a few weeks ago, I scored this solid oak, late 1800 to early 1900’s kitchen table. She’s in really rough condition, but sturdy… today we’re taking the time to do some repairs, give it a good scrubbing, and a deep oil bath. It’s definitely going to come with signs of wear, but thats what brings the charm and tells the stories.
I’ll keep you updated on progress! Stay warm and safe 🤗
