I want to encourage all of my friends and followers to shop small this holiday season but here are a few things to keep in mind when shopping small.

1. If your package shows delivered but you did not receive it, reach out to your seller and explain what has happened. Same goes for if it arrives damaged.

2. There are steps to take when this type of thing happens. One being that your post office can file a claim for you and they can also ping via GPS the exact location where your package was delivered.

3. After then steps are taken, if your issue is still unresolved, reach back out to the seller and notify them. 9 times out of 10, the small business will make it right. Whether it's a refund or sending the item again, most of us will go above and beyond to earn your trust and good review.

4. Filing a chargeback against a small business without doing steps 1-3 as mentioned above hurts that small business. It is a huge slap in the face and dagger to the heart when we receive chargebacks that were 100% avoidable and not our fault. We lose money. We lose product. We lose trust.

💛What small business owners are:

We are people. We are human. Most of us pride ourselves on top notch customer service. We are providing for our families with this income. We rely on good feedback and customer referrals. We are working long hours during this busy season. We know that your daughter just graduated college. We know that your husband hasn't been feeling well. We know that you just lost your beloved pet. We enjoy putting fun socks, pens and trinkets in your package to show appreciation.

💗What small business owners are not:

We are not Amazon. We are not Walmart. We are not Target. We are not Macys.
