Happy Birthday, Meg! 🤍
There are so many things I could say about Meg, but I think the biggest is how lucky I feel to work for someone I genuinely respect & admire.
For nine years, Meg has poured so much of herself into Oleanders. There are countless hours, decisions, sacrifices and pieces of her heart behind this business that most people will never see. She’s built it through every high, low, risk, change and growing pain…..and somehow, through all of it, has never lost sight of what she wanted Oleanders to be.
“Community In Every Thread” isn’t just our tagline. It really is what she’s created. Oleanders is a place to shop, but it’s also a place where relationships are built, customers become friends, our girls feel like family and we get to be part of communities we love. That kind of thing doesn’t just happen… it comes from the person behind it.
One of the things I appreciate most about Meg is the trust she gives the people around her. She gives us room to have ideas, take ownership, try new things and care about Oleanders like it’s a little bit ours, too. When you think about how much of herself she’s put into this business over the last nine years, that trust means even more.
And somewhere between collections, events, schedules, opening a SECOND STORE 😅 and all of the other chaos, my boss became one of my really good friends. We’re different in all the ways that somehow make us work really well together — she’ll always choose the neutral, I’ll always ask if we can order it in pink. 😂 I’ll keep track of the plan (and her credit card when necessary), and she’ll keep trusting me enough to come along for the ride.
Meg is hardworking, smart, generous, strong and genuinely just a really good person. I’m so proud of what she’s built, so excited for everything still ahead of her, and really grateful that I get to have a small part in it.
Happy Birthday , Meg! I love working for you, and I hope today you feel just how loved and appreciated you are. 🤍 Becca
