Our Story

My first auction without my mom happened when I was about 9 years old, up the street from where I was growing up in a small town of 1,800 in central Illinois. I picked the items to purchased and used my own money. What I remember the most though is the little brass scale that got away. I was outbid. I still remember that little scale. My mom loved antiques and I grew to love them too. Much of the furniture in my home first belonged to my grandmother, then to my mother, then to me. I think it was the first I knew about reduce, reuse, recycle! For my business name I chose ABeeC as I just retired from teaching 2nd grade (2015). I love Bees and what they mean for our environment. and the quote To Be or not to be. I choose to be! Be involved, Be caring, Be impassioned. I tend towards things for women; hankies, linens, hats, and I also collect quite a few religious items. I want to give a shout out to Kelly McCarty for creating the logo.
