It's been a while since I've posted an update on my availability. My hip surgery was a bit more extensive than we hoped but it went extremely well. The repairs they had to do require a long, slow recovery. I am happy to say that I am able to start taking clients again. On the hair side, I can do cuts only for a while. Leaning over the shampoo bowl is still quite painful. On the sewing side, I am able to do alterations and repairs, but not on heavy wedding gowns yet.

Unfortunately, due to an upcoming surgery, I will not be able to do any prom dress or wedding attire alterations this spring. Recovery and physical therapy will determine if I will be available for summer weddings. Stay tuned.

I've been busy with my office job and keeping the Morristown Cheer teams looking their best, but did get a couple Christmas presents made.

10" stuffed rat with lab coat and lanyard

Dress and bonnet for large concrete porch goose

Scrap bin with sawdust filled pin cushion for sewing

Warms my heart to see their smiles. So glad I am able to help.

The MHS cheerleading program wants to give a huge shout out to Looking Glass Designs!! For the past few years, she has helped both the JH and High school programs with essential alterations to get our squad members looking their best. She does an amazing job, and she was able to complete our alterations incredibly quick to get us ready to start our season.

My Background

Doing hair and making hand crafted items have been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I started sewing and doing needlework at the age of 5 and haven’t stopped. I made my first formal dress when I was 13. I can make anything from a simple pillow to a custom gown.

I have been a licensed Cosmetologist since 1983 and worked in a salon until my children started school. At that time, I went to work in an office and eventually ended up becoming a licensed property and casualty Insurance Agent/CSR.

Now that my children are grown, I am following my life long dream of having my own salon and boutique.
