I just did a little boat upgrade. The “Inner Voice” is moored right next to my sail boat. I would stare at it everyday from my boat and wonder what its story was, so when I saw it online for sale, I contacted the owner. The story behind the boat was wilder than I could have expected, because I found out a man named Leland Beck had hand made this beauty at his home in Paso Robles. It took him close to a decade to build, with dreams of sailing the world after his retirement. Unfortunately, Lealand passed away before getting the boat 100% finished, and never got to take her sailing. All of Leland’s photos of the build, hundreds of them, and all of his notes and schematics for the systems are also there. As I went through the documentation, I began seeing the boat as Lealand did. A dream, a chance to get away. I am now the proud owner of the “Inner Voice” a 40ft custom build by Lealand B of Paso Robles. Stay tuned for the restoration. #805 Big thanks to for the hook up! 🤙🏽
