Aside from my current hat that I’m making, I did a little side project. I changed my cowboy hat into a fedora!

It kind of turned out to be a cross between an Indy (KCS) with the brim and a Humphrey Bogart style with the teardrop crown shape.

Over all I love this thing! Message me if you want one!

Just wear the hat!

The more you wear it the more your hat conforms to your head.

It really doesn’t matter what the weather is unless you’re spending a majority of your time outside in the hot sun, just wear it with style. Make the statement that you know what a quality hat is worth. It’s meant to be worn, so go for it!

This hat is 100% rabbit felt with a leather sweat band and satin liner. The black grosgrain ribbon paired with the chocolate brown felt color really brings that classic cowboy hat look to it.

How it start verses how it ends are totally different places in hat making. Starting on a new hat seems like it’s not going to look like anything.

But there’s this one turn that really brings it home. For me it’s during the bashing.

This is where the creases are formed and the hat really comes alive and becomes what it’s meant to look like.

It’s truly art.

This is my Dads current favorite hat. He wears it often and it looks great on him!

This hat originally had a 4” brim which is traditional for a standard cowboy hat. But I cut it down to around 3 inches.

The reason is because the shape of your face determines the shape of what hat fits you best as far as how it looks on you.

So since my Dad is around 5 foot 6 inches, a shorter brim actually fits him better than a wider brimmed cowboy hat.

Comment if you agree or disagree! I’m always open to discussion and learning something new that I don’t know about hats.

My parents had a cowboy day for VBS at their church! My Dad is wearing his 100 percent rabbit 200g cowboy hat and my mom is sporting my version of the Crusade Indy Fedora in rabbit 160g chocolate colored felt (which actually belongs to me dad) 😄

They were looking great!! 🤠

I plan to make my mom her very own Cowgirl hat soon! It will be special since it will be the first female hat style I’ve made so far!
