Patty Marie Mears, 59, of Town Creek, Alabama passed away Monday, July 13, 2026, at North Alabama Medical Center. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Sis. Melinda Mears officiating. Burial will be at Fergason Cemetery.

Born on May 27, 1967, to James and Annie Brooks Parker. Patty was a school bus driver for 21 years in the Lawrence County School system. She loved everyone, never met a stranger, and would help anyone in need. Patty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her sons, Joseph (Tiffany) Mears and Justin (Latosha) Mears; grandchildren, Payton Lanier, Madison Mears, Logan Mears, Jaxon Smith, Gatlynn Mears, Josie Mears, Lucas Mears, and Jordan Mears; sister, Mary Ann (Kenny) Wheeler; brother, Henry (Cejina) Parker; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Patty was preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Chigger" Mears; parents, James and Annie Parker.

Pallbearers will be Logan Mears, Jaxon Smith, Todd Berryman, Anthony Cryer, Willie Hill, Chris Brooks, and Ike Agee.

The family extends special thanks to the ICU nurses, and staff at North Alabama Medical Center.

Leonard Nolen, 90, of Athens, Alabama passed away Monday, July 6, 2026, at Athens Health and Rehab. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at 1:30 PM on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Union Hill Cemetery with Micah Reed and Wayne Dotson officiating.

Born on August 18, 1935, to Agbert and Lula Martin Nolen. Leonard was such a caring, loving, humble, and Godly Man. He was a painter for many years and an Army Veteran. Leonard was a Pastor at Living Faith Church for 36 years where he ministered to many people and later a member of Open Arms Ministries.

Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Martin; grandchildren, Paige (Joel) Evans, Preston (Hannah) Martin; great-grandchildren, Hogan Evans, Barrett Evans, and Ava James Martin; sisters, Marie Jackson and Eleanor Borden; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Agbert and Lula Nolen; wife of 57 years, Faye Nolen; son, Tim Nolen; grandson, Cody Nolen; sister, Letha Shields; brothers, Theo, Ray, and Leo Nolen.

Pallbearers will be Preston Martin, Micah Reed, Eli Reed, Evan Reed, Jeremiah Cole, Roger Renfro, and Austin Renfro.

The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff at Athens Health and Rehabilitation and Hospice of North Alabama.

Gary Don Brooks Sr., 66, of Brierfield, Alabama previously of Moulton passed away Monday, July 6, 2026, at his residence. The graveside service will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Cheatham Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Born on August 22, 1959, to Elbert and Maggie "Dean" Rooks Brooks. Gary was a gold prospector. He was a proud member of the LDMA and GPAA. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a hard worker who would give you the shirt off of his back.

Survivors include the love of his life, Cynthia Blasingame; children, Don Brooks, Chastity Franks, Misty Franks, Marlana Blasingame, Shane (Ashley) Wakefield, and David Scofield; grandchildren, Kali Aurora Dean McCool, Dominick Williams, Blaine Williams, Ryan Ingram, David Wayne Dean, Elora Edmondson, Delia Lee, and Brennon Scofield; great-grandchildren, Octavia Dean, Ryder Dean, Aiden Edmondson, Nova Williams, and Dean Edmondson; brother, Victor Brooks; his loving and faithful companion, BJ; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Brooks and Maggie "Dean" Brooks; sister, Vicki Holloway.

Born on June 7, 1942, to Tennis and Mable Randolph Oliver. Stella loved attending Redemption Baptist Church, and she was saved at Old Liberty over 20 years ago. She enjoyed painting, planting flowers, cooking Sunday dinners, singing, and spending time with her family.

Zachery David Proctor, 31, of Town Creek, Alabama passed away Monday, June 29, 2026, at Athens Limestone Hospital. The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.Born on September 4, 1994, to Paula Carswell. Zach enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing, and playing video games. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his mother, Paula Carswell; grandmother, Christine Randolph; aunts, Tina Carswell, Julie Speegle, and Sheila Haggamaker; uncle, Jeff Randolph; sister, Sirena Gowen; and extended family.

Erica LuTonya Harris, 44, of Trinity, Alabama passed away Monday, June 22, 2026, at her residence. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Standridge and Stacie Brown officiating. Burial will be at Penny Cemetery.

Born on August 21, 1981, to Michael Darnell and Penny Harris. Erica attended East Lawrence High School. She went to Pine Grove Baptist Church. She loved her church family, and enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandbabies, and playing with her dogs. All the children in the trailer park called her momma Erica, and all of the adults called her Ms. Erica. You would have thought that she was the old woman who lived in the shoe; that had so many children she didn't know what to do. Erica's goal in life was to help anyone who had been down on their luck, and she will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends!

Survivors include her parents, Michael Darnell and Penny Harris; her second dad, Benny (Diane) Standridge; children, Jacob (Destiny) Harris, J.C. "Brother" Eguia, Nicholas Eguia, Zoey Nichole (Hayden Cooper) Harris; grandchildren, Paisley Harris, Riley Harris, Avah Harris, and Jacob David Harris; sister, Christy (Gary) Corley and brothers, Dakota (Miranda) Darnell, Tony Standridge, Jarred Wilburn; soul sister, Nichole Waldrep; Life Partner for 23 years, Jesse Eguia; her baby Violet Dog, and Starburst one of Violet's puppies; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Erica was preceded in death by her daughter, Jorden Riley; maternal grandparents, Bynum and Esther Harris; paternal grandparents, Kathleen and Neal Darnell, and second grand dad, Hilleur Standridge; mother-in-law, Vicky Wadell; and several aunts and uncles.

Born on June 11, 1948, to Ethel Myers. Alma loved her flowers and gardening. She enjoyed playing with children, and spoiling all of them she met. Alma enjoyed making new friends everywhere she went, and if she asked your name and birthday you better believe she'd remember it! She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Born on July 6, 1943 to the late Charlie and Maudie Harris Swims, Truby was a longtime member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She loved flowers, sewing, riding and shopping. Truby also loved spending time with her family.

Betty was born on March 17, 1938 to Clell and Hattie Patterson Townson. She was a graduate of Cullman High School class of 1956.
