In the world of fitness, there really are dos and don’ts. Learning proper form and technique doesn’t just make your workouts more effective—it also helps prevent long-term injuries.
🎯 Today’s focus: Romanian Deadlifts (RDLs)
Here’s how to perform an RDL correctly:
✅ Stand with your feet hip-width apart and hold the weight close to your thighs.
✅ Keep a slight bend in your knees throughout the movement.
✅ Brace your core and keep your chest proud.
✅ Hinge at your hips by pushing them back, not by squatting down.
✅ Keep your back neutral—avoid rounding your spine.
✅ Lower the weight while keeping it close to your legs until you feel a stretch in your hamstrings.
✅ Drive your hips forward and squeeze your glutes to return to the starting position.
🚫 Avoid rounding your back, letting the weight drift away from your body, or turning the movement into a squat.
Master the movement first. The heavier weights can come later. Good technique builds strength, confidence, and longevity.
