The “Good Wood Era”—back when the Memphis plant was absolutely firing on all cylinders and turning out legendary hollow-body bangers. While that factory had a solid run from 2000 until the lights went out in 2018—forcing the semi-hollow and laminate operations to pack up and haul over to Gibson Headquarters in Nashville—the real magic happened during a golden window.
The undisputed sweet spot is that 2002 to 2007 run. The specs were dialed, the wood selection was top-shelf, and the craftsmanship was pure outlaw grit. They weren’t just building instruments; they were forging some of the absolute finest, hardest-working Gibsons to roll off a line on this side of Y2K.

So this beautiful ES-125 that should be in a glass case, but we don’t do velvet ropes and quiet whispering around here. Aside from the amazing, checking in the nitro, which just proves it’s got some soul, this Gibson is so ridiculously crisp it looks like it just rolled out of the time machine. It spent the last few decades hiding from the world, but it’s finally out of captivity and ready to actually touch moving air.
If you want to be the guy who buys it just to stare at it under a spotlight while sipping a hand squeezed artisanal sparkling water, go right ahead. But we’d highly recommend plugging this pristine, distinguished, and down right dapper ES125 in and letting it do exactly what it was built for…. Having that P90 so you what it’s like to feel again!

What to play it? Pull up to the shop grab a pick and get this 1951 in your lap!

Slide through the DMs before someone else buys it to use as a tax write-off.

Beggars Banquet & Sticky Fingers

Released in 1968, Beggars Banquet marked a massive turning point for The Rolling Stones as they stripped away the psychedelic experimentation of their previous work and dug their heels straight back into raw, unadulterated blues and roots rock. Produced by Jimmy Miller, the album is famously acoustic-driven but carries an incredibly heavy, menacing undercurrent. It feels like a gritty, late-night jam session playing out in a smoky room, anchored by iconic, rhythm-heavy tracks like “Sympathy for the Devil” and the politically charged “Street Fighting Man.”

This was also the last album to feature Brian Jones as a primary contributor before his death, and his haunting slide guitar work on “No Expectations” stands out as one of his finest final moments. The record established the classic, swaggering Stones sound that would define their next decade—dirty, dangerous, and deeply rooted in delta blues and country.

Following up in 1971, Sticky Fingers is widely considered the absolute peak of the Stones’ golden era and their first release on their own Rolling Stones Records label. This album is dark, decadent, and completely steeped in the seedier side of early-70s rock and roll, famously packaged in the Andy Warhol-designed sleeve with a working zipper. From the iconic, driving opening riff of “Brown Sugar” to the gorgeous, strung-out melancholy of “Wild Horses,” the record is a masterclass in songwriting and studio production.

What really sets Sticky Fingers apart is the introduction of Mick Taylor as a full-time member, bringing a fluid, melodic lead guitar style that perfectly countered Keith Richards’ sharp, rhythmic chopping. The sprawling, Latin-tinged instrumental jam at the end of “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking” and the heavy, saturated groove of “Sway” showcase a band operating at the absolute height of their musical chemistry, creating a swaggering, blues-drenched masterpiece.

The top 3 most recorded electric guitars in history…

3. Les Paul
2. Telecaster
1. STRATOCASTER!!

That right and it’s wild to think that the Strat is so adaptable to different genres, and is so easily capable of mimicking any style that it even beat its predecessor the Telecaster! The Stratocaster will forever be know as the most iconic electric studio workhorse of all time.

What about Acoustic…

3. Yamaha FG Series (Primarily the FG800)
2. Martin D-28
1. Gibson J-45

The big three in the acoustic and we definitely saw Gibsons J45 taking the crown and remaining one of the Acoustic worlds most iconic!
