What a way to start the new year. December 31st brought us the flu. Then my computer crashed. I am still restoring from the cloud to get everything back on my new laptop. I hope I am back together by February 1st so I can start the new year. How is everyone doing on their new year? Hope better than me...

Sharing tonight, I did get some sewing done this last weekend. I think people think I am nuts to sew on my weekend off after sewing all week, but it is a different type of sewing. I enjoy sewing a lot. It is my stress reliever.The Spider man dresses came from a child's costume and the Minnie Mouse dresses came from a little girls dress I found. All the other dresses were from the pieces my friend gave me.

Remember I said new things were happening in the new year? The first of this year was a big change for me. I took a full time job sewing. It is a different kind of sewing where speed is expected and I am working with industrial machines. The industrial machines are new to me, but I am leaning how to tame the beast....lol I have been sewing all my life, well since about 8 years old anyway, but I would say this is a very different kind of sewing experience. I have a great respect for the ladies I work with because they are very talented in being able to do what they do every day. They are very fast sewers, and what I was taught that you have to pivot to go around a corner, well that isn't exactly true....I have learned you can sew fast and still get around a corner......lol

I start working early in the morning which was an adjustment for me. I am in week three and now believe I am ready to go to bed to start my new work week. What I am very happy about sewing all day hasn't taken the desire to sew out of me. I still have to be sewing creatively. So it may be slower in getting new items finished I still will be working on doll clothes and quilting....

Wishing everyone a great New Year in 2017.......Doesn't seem possible that 2016 is almost over, it went so fast. Lots of changes for me in the new year. I will go into that more later. The new babies are doing great. Be safe....

less than a week to go....Is it just me or does everyone have as much as I have left to do? LOL Tis the season......
If you still have items to purchase for your dolls, I have re-stocked the dresses and items for the 18 inch dolls at Miller's Florist gift shop here in Muscatine, Iowa. It is a wonderful gift shop with lots of gift ideas. I also have put up some last minute items on Ebay at http://stores.ebay.com/byvickylynn . I have 2 New Penpal 18 inch dolls for sale also. One is brunette and the other one is a blonde. They are $20 each. PM if you are interested. Have a great week........Relax like me......lol

Wow what a busy fall. The grandbabies are born with just a week apart, I just love both of them. Craft shows are done for this year and I am now trying to get ready for Christmas. I know everyone is getting ready for Thanksgiving and I am too, but also getting ready for the Quad-City Expo in Rock Island. IL. It will be starting the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is the first time to do this event and I am looking forward to it. There are lots of vendors there that you can Christmas shop for unique items. I have tickets for a dollar off your admission to the event.
