A reminder that some of our most beautiful things are born from our darkest times.
That was the genesis of my Water Dress, and everything grew from there. My first Grandmothers' Dresses were very simple. I made countless mistakes, but every mistake taught me something I couldn't have learned any other way.
Back then, I was ridiculed. But I kept going. I didn't give up then, and I won't give up now.
Dark times have a way of giving rise to growth and resilience.
Our grandmothers understood that. They began documenting our plant relatives in their beadwork. It wasn't simply decoration. It was knowledge and a way of ensuring that what mattered most could survive.
It's their quiet way of reminding us that we are never truly alone. No matter what others try to erase, the truth remains. Our medicines are still here. The question is whether we still know how to see them.
