Happy New Year from your cobblers at MSR!

Here's some of what we accomplished in 2025:
192 pairs of shoes stretched
Over 300ft of stitching done on footwear, belts, bags, and one set of hockey goalie pants, oye!
134 pairs of heels replaced
56 pairs of boots resoled
120 pairs of soles glued back on shoes
and 136 pairs of Birkenstocks recrafted!!

We would like to thank our community for your support, and point out how fantastic it is to be part of a community that values repairing over replacing ❤️ This past year we together kept over FIVE HUNDRED pairs of shoes out of landfills by taking the time to fix something instead of just throwing it away.
We think that's pretty awesome 😀

Boot season is here! Lots of cool footwear in the shop these days... including these well-loved (and taken care of!) Iron Rangers. The owner was ready for a new feel, so we recrafted them onto an 8-iron leather midsole and Vibram Montagna 100 sole/heel with a stacked leather heel block.
A bit of Blackrock for the finish, and dang these are gorgeous ✌️

I have used Todd's aprons in the shop for over a decade. Now I'm hooked on the clothing, too, cos this shirt is ridiculously comfortable.
I gotta say... locally handmade feels GOOD.
If you get the chance, stop into Tenden on 7th in Grand Haven. Tell them Chris the Cobbler sent you ;) (it won't get you anywhere, but we love to hear when our community supports us)

When our client couldn't find the right color footwear for a wedding they're attending, we made a pair of their favorite, comfortable sandals the perfect match. These Cobb Hill are now a beautiful, two-tone pewter :)

Hey, I know these two!!

Next time you're in our shoe repair, make sure to offer well wishes to Alaina and Cohen for their incredible accomplishment :)

It is my great honor to congratulate our TWO Class of 2025 graduates!

Not only have Alaina and Cohen excelled academically through their high school years, they are two of the kindest people I have the pleasure of knowing. They regularly show up to Tru-Fit & MSR with empathy, willingness to learn and to teach, great senses of humor, and a genuine desire to help their community.

They give me hope for our future

"Our Power, Our Planet"
Happy Earth Day!!!
Taking care of our Big Green Spacerock is very important to me. Being a cobbler is how I help reduce waste, help others reuse their footwear, and recycle parts and pieces from footwear that would otherwise just end up in the trash.
You can help by repairing your footwear instead of replacing it!!

Removed the plastic/rubber/fake leather heels from these Cole Haans and replaced them with some real, stacked leather blocks and GTO top lift. They are now ready for a much longer life of looking great!

These Red Wing boots started their life with beige wedge soles... look at them now!
All dressed up with red Vibram 132 soles, black midsoles, and a beefy steel shank. Finally, a coat of Blackrock brought the beautifully aged leather upper to life.

Wishing the gang at Lange's Comics and Collectibles a successful grand opening of their new space today!
It's a long-standing tradition to stop by Lange's after I close up shop on Saturdays... and today we're especially stoked for 3:00 to get here!
