HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to all of the Dads of the world.
I was truly blessed to have had a Dad that stood by my side and cheered me on every step of the way. He was a man with a big heart and very strong moral compass. A man who knew that what mattered, was not money or power, but being there when it counted. He knew that giving a hand up was much more effective and powerful than beating someone down. Being loyal and faithful, consistent and calm was what made my father the rock of my life.
This picture is the day I graduated from college. Ohhhh believe me he had his doubts about his wild child. But a serious short talk, a couple of days before I started college, changed the trajectory of my life. His words were few but they mattered.
When I opened this store he thought I was crazy. “Retired and rich people open antique stores.” Yep, I didn’t fit that description. And well, we sell other things besides antiques. Hahaha. But he cheered me on regardless.
So Dad’s happy Father’s Day. Your words and actions matter. Even today I look back at my Dad, things that he did or said 50 years ago, and those memories still have meaning. Enjoy the day. It is up to us to try to leave this world a better place.

MINE in MYSTIC GOES OUT OF CONTROL.
Besides a three day buying trip we just finished a small estate buy, on top of other estate buys, on top of some great picking, on top of some clean-outs, on top of….. OK you get the picture. We are cleaning and pricing as fast as we can to get all kinds of awesome items on the floor. New items being put out non stop!!! Open every day except Tuesdays 10 until 5.

Oh we fooled you didn’t we? If you’ve read our previous posts you know we haven’t had the best weather on weekends. Well…this weekend looks nice so it is time to load up your family, friends and the neighbors and head over to Mine in Mystic. Come explore our two floors of wonderful treasures from years gone by to the present. Cool stuff at fair prices. Off street parking, dog friendly and we like people too! Things to do on a rainy day in Mystic. Hey wait didn’t we say that last weekend?
Ok. Same title, new context.
We brought in all kinds of new items this week. Lot of planters and plant pots, more cement garden items, more furniture, jewelry, minerals, lots of new books, artwork, albums, frames, clothing etc. etc. etc. and another etc. lots of unique items at fair prices. We will even throw in the off street parking for free. Hahaha.
