Designing the Signature Cap meant resisting the urge to add.
Throughout the process, we spent more time deciding what to leave out than what to put in. We wanted the Signature Cap to become the simplest expression of ODAAT. A piece where material, fit, and proportion take the place of unnecessary detail.
When it came time to photograph it, we found RYO KAWANO / hyogen through what felt like a series of random connections.
Before we had even met, he asked something no one else had. He wanted to understand why ODAAT exists.
It was clear we shared the same approach: understand the story before making the photograph.
A big thank you to 𝗖𝗮𝗳𝗲&𝗕𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹'𝘀 𝗞𝘆𝗼𝘁𝗼 for opening their doors before service and allowing us to photograph in a space of concrete, wood, and natural light. It never competed with the product. It simply gave it room to exist.

Seeing people come back for a second color has probably been the most rewarding part. It tells us the Signature Cap became what we hoped it would: the one you reach for often.
