The Story of the Navajo Code Talkers
During World War II, a group of Navajo Marines, known as the Navajo Code Talkers, used their native language to create an unbreakable code that played a crucial role in the U.S. military's success in the Pacific theater. At a time when traditional military codes were being deciphered by enemy forces, the unique nature of the Navajo language made it nearly impossible for others to understand. The Code Talkers developed a coded vocabulary for military terms and used it to communicate securely in battle. Their bravery and ingenuity helped ensure that key messages remained confidential, ultimately saving countless lives and contributing to the Allied victory.
Despite facing discrimination in the U.S., these Native American veterans chose to serve with honor, displaying patriotism and resilience. In 2001, the Navajo Code Talkers received long-overdue recognition with the Congressional Gold Medal, symbolizing the nation's gratitude for their invaluable service. Their story is a reminder of the power of unity and the unique contributions of veterans from all backgrounds.

MediaWise for Seniors
Older Americans are increasingly engaged online, with more than 40% of people over the age of 65 actively using social media platforms like Facebook. But as seniors spend more time online, they’re exposed to more conspiracies, scams, hoaxes and false news stories. In the shadow of the coronavirus pandemic and consequential elections, spotting misinformation online can be a matter of life, death and democracy. This free short course from MediaWise for Seniors will teach you how to tell what’s true and false on the internet. Learn techniques for identifying false information and how to seek out trustworthy sources.

MediaWise Teen Fact-Checking Network is a virtual newsroom made up of middle and high schoolers who use social media to debunk viral misinformation and share media literacy tips. Welcome to my page for my business. I am Susan (Crow) Cook, the business owner and product creator for Penny Pocket Creations. Our Vision is to spark joy and confidence with thoughtfully designed accessories, ranging from fun and playful to stylish and elegant.

Mission Statement: We strive to make showing your individual style accessible to everyone through a diverse range of creative, affordable jewelry and accessories.

I have a variety of jewelry types, mostly handmade original pieces and sets, but I also carry some outlet items purchased wholesale. I make crochet bags, both premium beaded versions and everyday styles. I also offer Hair Bows and Clips made from Fabric, Synthetic Leather, and Resin. I will be making Keychains and miscellaneous items from Resin and other materials. I plan to offer custom and personalization options for some products, especially Charm Bracelets and Key Chains. Contact me if you see something you like, but would prefer a different color or other minor changes. I’ll be happy to accommodate your request if am able (no guarantees). NOTE: Customizations can take from an extra day to several weeks.

My primary online store is www.PennyPocketCreations.com and items on this store can also be seen in the SHOP app. I am continually creating new inventory so the assortment and available items may look different every time you visit. Keep in mind that most items will be one-of-a-kind or have a very limited quantity on hand. I also have an Etsy store and will gradually add my more premium handmade items to that store as well.
