Creating The Lovely has been an unbelievably rewarding experience and one of the great joys of my life. It seems like just yesterday but also forever ago that I opened her doors on Daffodil weekend, 2012.

It has been thirteen wonderful seasons! And now the time has come to close those doors and say farewell.

I have loved every moment, and each one of you, my lovely clients. Clients who became friends and confidants. Some who have been alongside me since day one and some who I have just met! Pinch me, I am so grateful for all of you. I have been saying this since day one-and it is the truth…. I simply have THE BEST customers. The Lovely certainly would not be the cozy little shop off the beaten path without YOU.

I have been fortunate to work with some of the most kind and generous vendors and sales reps who I learned so much from and felt supported by. I am thankful for you.

And I certainly would have run for the hills long ago if it were not for my ABSOLUTE rockstar employees (coworkers, really!). For over a decade I have been blessed with the smartest, kindest, funniest, most generous young ladies and women that a business owner could wish for. You, each in your own way, have lovingly taken care of our clients, The Lovely, and me with grace and pride. It has been an absolute pleasure to work beside you all.

To say that I will miss The Lovely and all of you tremendously is an understatement. The tears are rolling down my cheeks as I write this.

Please don’t fret-The Lovely doors are open for the rest of our magical season: through Columbus Day and then Thanksgiving and Stroll as always. Our beautiful fall merchandise is here for the coziest sweater weather and it all looks amazing. Please stop in and say hello. Although I am closing The Lovely, I am not saying goodbye. I am staying on the island, taking some moments to breathe, and looking forward to the next chapter and new lovely adventures.

It’s been a busy Fourth of July weekend! 🇺🇸 so we haven’t had a minute to post a story in a few days. Tonight, instead of rushing out right at closing tonight, I took my time leaving. I puttered, straightened the store, watered the plants and had such a moment of gratitude for all of our great customers! So I was inspired to post. 💜 So many fun loyal and new people in the last few days! I have an amazing group of young ladies and women working at the shop this year who are so genuinely enthusiastic to help everybody look and feel their best. We feel so uplifted when someone walks out feeling great, with a big smile on their face. I’ve been saying it for over a dozen years, but we truly have the best clients ever!
