"We Are Seeing The LIGHT At The End Of The Tunnel!"

Three years ago COVID 19 shut the whole world 🌎 down. Before all of the Senior Living Facilities closed their doors to everyone we Vended at 18 of them. We were just 2 short of 20. When the CDC gave the go ahead to reopen we gained 10 Facilities, making it 28.

Up to this month, only 8 of the old ones haven't called us to return. That changed Two weeks ago when we got a call from the Activity/Lifestyle Director from one of them to return, scheduling us for Wednesday August 24th and going forward every 4th Wednesday of the month.

When we returned what a welcome party we had on my Birthday. Yayesss what a wonderful day it was, the support exceeded our expectations. THAT'S 21 leaving 7 more to go and 2 more to be added to make the Goal #30.

Doubters say, "You can't make money selling $5 Jewelry!" We say, "HA! One NEVER keeps going back to a place they aren't making money!" 🤑 💸 💰

We've had our Ups and Downs, but we keep enjoying this Heartbeat 💓 of a Rollercoaster 🎢 Ride, we're beginning to see the "LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL" ✨

"Gloria's Story!"

There's NOTHING better than when you enjoying what you do, doing what you love, meeting new friends who become like family and getting compliments for your Business.

We DON'T just go into the Facilities just to vend and make sales. Let's just say we go there to make friends who become like Family. We DON'T just get to know the Residents names, we get to know all about them too. Some of the stories they tell would wow you. They would either bring tears or fill your heart with joy. Sometimes even both.

I've told the story of Eleanor and Helen. Now meet Gloria. I promise a story of her so here it is.

The Facility where Gloria was a Resident is our second Facility to say "Yes" to us coming in to vend. October coming would be 4 years that we've been Vending there.

Gloria was another MVC (Most Valuable Customer). Every trip we made she was present to purchase. She would always get a long chain or two and a ring or two. Her number of purchases were always 2-4 items. There was always one she would put on and say, "That's gonna draw a lot of attention!" And we'd all laugh. Before she left she would sit and chatted for a while. What amazing stories she told.

Our youngest daughter works at that Facility and they know each other quite well. Oftentimes when she sat, she'd tell us what a lovely, nice and hard working girl KK is. "You two must be proud!" She would add. One thing with Seniors: they are sharp on their mouth and quick thinkers with great comebacks.

The first time she told us that about KK Max asked her how much did KK pay her to tell us that. Her reply was, "Nothing, this one's on the house." He loves messing with them and they always fix his business real good. Nothing like a good laugh though. We make their day and they return the favor.

Well I know you all know how this story ends. Yep Gloria was doing pretty good. She was just due for a minor surgery. She went into the hospital that day for the surgery. The surgery never happened; she died before they could perform it. As far as everyone knew she was doing quite fine. So the news was a shock to everyone. KK told us the sad news.

It was strange not to see her when we went there the Friday after she passed. But they had her picture posted on the piano in the area we vend. So unbelievable. Everyone who came to purchase that day said she went peacefully.

Here's to you Gloria. Rest In Eternal Peace MVC!!! 😇 🙏

"Our Professional Set Up & How Facilities Advertise Us!"

One of the most amazing things about Vending is that the Activity/Lifestyle Directors would post our Flyers everywhere. Even on a big screen TV.

The Residents, Staff and Visitors can't miss all the places they advertise our arrival.

They truly looovvveee how Max and I work together as an Amazing Team, most importantly we dress professionally and our set up is neat, organized and looks professional.

Some of the Residents say they DON'T need anything but because the way we operate they say they CAN'T help themselves but get something even if they give it to family and friends for gift.

NOT surprising we get the Praise, compliments and support we do. With everything we do we do with excellence as though we do until the LORD.

I truly looovvveee Seniors. They speak TRUTH and NOT afraid to tell you like it is. They bring the biggest SMILE on my face. Truly looovvveee what we do and doing what we looovvveee.

"God isn't through with us yet!"

If you think we have fallen off the grid…think again, better yet look closely; NOT sorry to disappoint, but happy to say, "Like ROOTS, We're still here."

Some of you who are watching but NOT Liking or Commenting and others may write us off and THINK we are finished, but NOT God cause He isn't through with Max and I yet.

The enemy might have tried to take Max out but God says, "I've got a plan, one that will bring you Success and make you Mighty among Men. Trust those plans that I have for you." We're trusting Him on THIS Journey. It's a Heartbeat of a Rollercoaster Ride but we're enjoying, grinning and bearing every minute of it.

Every time we think our plate is full and our cup running over God says, "No you've Got To Have dessert!"

He promised to "Spread The Table before our enemies and our cup runneth over." He keeps Filling and we keep Spilling. As much as we are enjoying our FULL Plate of Food Max and I are making room for the Dessert God is spreading on the Table for us.

Never in my wildest dream had I thought I would be CoHosting a Radio Program with My Husband and Ministering to people while Vending with me on his side. Here is NOT the place to talk about our Cultural Praise Broadcast, but if you want to know more visit www.culturalpraise.com.

I truly looovvveee what Max and I are doing and we're doing just what we looovvveee. Sometimes we HAVE to work in silence and allow our SUCCESS do the talking. Keep watching though, Max and I appreciate it, we truly do. DON'T Blink cause ya might miss it.

"The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business."

Running a business is really hard.

What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression, in even the most laid back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.

Friends and family will expect discounts and people will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.

You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.

Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work life balance. You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All whilst being a parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend... it’s one of the hardest things you will try and balance.

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed. It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially the past couple of years when so much has been out of our control.

Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient, support small businesses, refer customers to us…….and hopefully more of us will stick around!

"The Residents Are MORE Than Just Customers!!!"

I thought I would kick off the month of March with a story. We have sooo many stories of the Residents in the facilities we could write a book. These Residents aren't just customers they become friends, and like family to us. Some of them would chat while they shop, some would sit right next to the checkout table in their wheelchair or walker and share stories. I can't say if all the stories are true or not but sometimes we hear the same story every time. Nonetheless, we listen as though we are hearing it for the first time.

I shared with you all the story of Eleanor and how we found out she had gone to be with the LORD. It was Helen who told us. This is a touching story about Helen.

Most of the time Helen and Eleanor shopped together. Each time we went to the facility it was strange seeing Helen shop alone, she would usually purchase an item or two. Each time she did her shopping she would steer a while at the rings but would never purchase one.

One day when she picked out 2 items, looked at the rings, she saw a ring she knew Eleanor would have gotten. She looked at me and asked me again if I heard what happened to Eleanor. I told her I did, yet she went on to tell me again what happened. She said, "If Eleanor was here this was going to be the ring she bought." Which is true, we all knew what type of rings Eleanor loved.

Helen proceeded to say that she was going to get that ring in memory of Eleanor. I shook my head in agreement and told her she can have it.

In 3 years of buying from us she NEVER took a free gift even if I offered and she always told us to give her the bills and keep the coins. But this time she knew that ring was special. She smiled and accepted it as a gift. THAT SMILE would live with me FOREVER.

One day when we went there we found out she went to another facility. We had hoped to one day see her again. Several months later we were approved to vend at a new facility in December 2021.

The ladies and gents had fun shopping for gifts for their loved ones. It was exciting seeing all the new faces and hearing them compliment our set up, the beautiful things and our low prices. But nothing was more exciting than to see Helen as she approached the tables to shop. The joy on her face when she saw us was priceless.

We talked for a while. She brought up Eleanor again she reminded us off the ring she still has that Eleanor would have bought. She purchased her few items then left. I'm not certain if there was a tear in her eyes. If there was, I wondered if it was for Eleanor, tears of joy to see us or both.

I do know one thing: that moment right there will forever be stuck in my mind.
