The End of a Chapter 🤍
Sometimes life has a way of shifting our priorities, changing our direction, and reminding us that it’s okay to let go of things we once loved.
When I started Union Proper in 2022, I had a vision of creating something that reflected my love for classic, timeless style and thoughtfully curated pieces. What began as a dream became something I was incredibly proud to call my own.
But life pivots. Priorities change. And sometimes, something that once brought you so much joy simply doesn’t anymore.
With the closing of The Painted Tree, I’ve found myself at a crossroads with Union Proper. The reality of small business retail is that maintaining an online boutique today often means becoming a full-time content creator or social media influencer. And while I have so much respect for those who thrive in that space, it was never my dream or what I wanted Union Proper to become.
I’ve always believed that if you’re going to pour your time, energy, and heart into something, it should bring you joy. And I’ve reached a place where I know it’s time to step away.
More than anything, I’m learning to trust God’s plan, even when it looks different from the one I had for myself. Sometimes He calls us to begin something, and sometimes He asks us to release it. Both require faith. I’m choosing to trust His timing, embrace this season of life, and find peace in not knowing exactly what comes next.
So, with a grateful heart, I’ve made the decision to close this chapter of Union Proper.
To everyone who has shopped, shared, encouraged, and supported this little dream of mine over the past four years, thank you. Truly. You helped make something I once only imagined a reality.
Beginning next week, we will kick off our closing sale! I would love for you to shop with us one last time as we clear out our remaining inventory. More details will be coming soon!
This isn’t necessarily goodbye forever. It’s simply the end of the first chapter.
I started Union Proper because I loved it, and I want to remember it that way. Rather than force it into something it was never meant to be, I’m choosing to close this chapter with gratitude, trust God’s plan, and leave the door open for whatever He may have in store.
Here’s to trusting His timing, finding joy in the next season, and remembering that sometimes the most beautiful chapters begin when we least expect them.
With love and gratitude,
Union Proper 🤍
