Texas' crackdown on manufactured THC products including Delta-8, Delta-10 and THCP took effect after years of legal battles.

Austin police told K*T they would treat possession of Delta-8 as a state-jail felony, potentially carrying 180 days to 2 years behind bars and up to a $10,000 fine. Prosecutors ultimately determine whether charges are filed.

But here's the part people need to know:

Not every THC gummy is illegal.

Qualifying hemp-derived Delta-9 products remain legal under the current rules, making the exact type of THC in the product extremely important.

BREAKING: A federal judge denied the DOJ's request to unblock USPS's new rule implementing parts of Trump's anti-mail voting order.

NEW: Mangos sold in select Walmart stores are being recalled as the FDA warns of “fatal infections” among children, elderly Americans, and people with compromised immune systems.

The mangos were sold in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, and recalled after health officials found they could be contaminated with Salmonella.

Those who consume contaminated products could “experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.” While rare, the FDA also warns that Salmonella can enter the bloodstream and cause “more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis.”

Customers are urged to check whether the products they purchased are included in the recall, which is “identified by a light blue sticker with the label Agrofepac, Produce of Mexico, and a PLU number of 4584 and UPC #07503061948050.”

Those who have purchased affected products should dispose of or return them to the original place of purchase.

This mango recall comes amid a wave of other high-profile food recalls. Last year, the Trump administration laid off hundreds of food safety inspection workers.
