To end it off we are talking about bending and summarizing this series.

String bending is a basic technique, used a lot in blues and rock but also found a bit in most other styles (except classical). The idea is to "bend" (push a string across or over the fingerboard with your left-hand fingers) so that the string gets tighter and the pitch goes up.

Sliding is a technique for playing that is often used in blues music. It involves playing while holding a hard object against the strings, creating the opportunity for glissando effects and deep vibratos that reflect characteristics of the human singing voice.⁠

Recently I was working with some fine folks in a CNC shop space here in Nashville to make the River Dulcimer come to life. This is what they shot back when I sent them my first paper sketch. Made my ❤️ beat a little faster. ⁠

So many things yet to figure out, I know, but seeing the image I had in my head somewhere other than paper is pretty exhilarating.
