We had a great time reading our book with Head Start students and their parents at St. Vincent de Paul! Thank you to Fathers Fighting 4 Fathers for inviting us to this read-in for your American Education Week program and for getting books for the kids. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in Career Day at John Hanson Montessori School. Shout out and thank you to Tia Breckenridge, Professional School Counselor, for the invitation. The scholars were excited to learn about how to become an author. They enjoyed hearing about all of the careers that are mentioned in “Exploring What I Can Be from A to Z”. We even challenged the 1st, 5th and 7th grade scholars to write their own books!

We had so much fun sharing our book, “I Am Affirmed from A to Z”, with the kindergarten and second grade scholars at Colin Powell Academy. They were attentive and actively participated. They even made thank you notes to show their appreciation for the reading! Thank you Principal Lattimore, admin staff, and teachers for everything you do on a daily basis.

Our books are making an impact all the way in Spain 🇪🇸🌏. Our friend, CeCe, used “I Am Affirmed from A to Z” while teaching her students in Girona. Here’s what she had to say:

“For my capstone project, I led a 3-part lesson to 5th graders about developing their self-confidence and exploring their individuality and I used ‘I Am Affirmed from A to Z’ as the basis! Overall, it went really well! Not only did they learn many new English words, but they practiced introspection as they explored what made them unique, and finally presented their affirmation posters to the class. I was a big fan when you first announced you wrote this book, and I’m so glad I finally got the opportunity to utilize it in my classroom because these are the kind of books that really matter! Thanks for what you’re doing💕”
