I swear, sometimes you just can’t make this stuff up.
And I swear on everything, this is not for views, attention, or drama. This is becoming a real issue in our small town. Maybe it’s because we sit right on a state route—who knows—but it seems like more and more people are dealing with theft and vandalism.
Just a month ago, over Memorial Day weekend, someone stole the ferns right off our property. Now today, someone has stolen our son’s bike.
Like so many kids in our community, our son and his friend spend their days riding around town, exploring, making memories, and simply being kids. Today, someone decided to take that away from him.
What makes this especially upsetting is that this wasn’t just any bike. It was something he worked hard for, something he was proud of, and something that gave him a sense of freedom and independence.
Before anyone jumps to conclusions, I know there is another boy in town who has the same bike. However, our son’s bike is easy to identify. The handlebars were cut down, and the handle grips were trimmed, leaving a noticeable seam where they were modified to fit him better and improve his handling of the bike.
To the person who took it: you are on camera. Law enforcement has already been notified, and we know what happened.
We are giving you 24 hours to do the right thing and return the bike. If it is returned, we will consider the matter resolved and will not pursue charges.
Everyone makes mistakes. What matters now is what you choose to do next.
Please share this post and keep an eye out. We would simply like to get our son’s bike back and remind people that our kids deserve to feel safe enjoying their hometown without worrying that something they worked hard for will be taken from them.
