Etsy.com/shop/HatsByGrizz Lil Grizz has been making hats most of his life. For the last 30 years he has criss-crossed the country building hats for living history participants and on movie sets. He is more at home in his canvas tent by his

wood stove or in a bedroll thrown out under the stars than in any building. As a hat maker he must know everything so he is of course very well read and ready to hold forth on any subject from theories of cosmic design to forestry/conservation to US & world history. With a glance and touch of his fingers to your head he can make you a hat that fits perfectly and will last you the rest of your life….unless you leave it in a water-logged barrel for months or run over it with a brush hog! Lil Grizz and I, Mizz Grizz, met on the rendezvous circuit and were married in March of 2013. He is the ultimate guru of hats and I work beside him building the unique sweatbands that we use in our hats as well as learning all the steps of the trade. I also handle the online/shipping end of our business. We relocated our home and workshop to a new property in New Almelo, in northwest Kansas in 2014 and went online with the business through our online shop in 2015. We start with a floppy hat “blank” and soak it in very hot water. Next, we stretch it by hand over antique wooden blocks, iron it with old-fashioned, flat irons, and let it dry. Then a coat of stiffener is applied and the hat must dry again slowly and then be ironed again. Next the hat brim is trimmed and then Lil Grizz’s signature tight pencil curl is put in on the edge to strengthen it. An inner sweat band of our personal design and production is then hand sewn into the hat. Lastly, using a steaming kettle, the crown and brim are shaped to their final design. We can make hats to copy old photos or old favorites that have seen a better day. We can create a new one of a kind hat for your personal unique rendezvous, civil war, or steampunk costume. Dear friends, I need you to join me tonight in praying for our dear hat family member, Anthony Liguori Jr. His dear mother passed on to be with the LORD today. Tomorrow he will be driving back from Tennessee. Please pray for traveling mercies for Anthony Liguori Jr and all the rest of the family who will be on the road. Please pray for them to be comforted as they grieve.....

He has prayed for/with and ministered to many of us..... Now it is time for us to be there for him!!

Yesterday I got a sweet message of encouragement from one of our dear Lil Grizz Hat Family members.... Lisa Trummel-Deramo. Today she has passed on from this world.

Lisa seemed to love life, and I know she loved her HatsByGrizz hat as she often communicated with us about it. She made a point to take professional photos in it for us to use so that we could show people that our hats were for women as well as men!!....

It was shared with me that just hours before she passed she was sitting up in bed visiting with family and mentioned that she soon would be able to meet Lil Grizz! I loved this lady and deeply appreciated her encouragement over the past 5 months. I am sure her family will miss her deeply....

Today was the day that I knew for sure that all the hours spent building a hat family instead of just a hat brand were well spent! When you wear a HatsByGrizz hat you always have family all over the world!

Love to you all and remember to share love instead of hate...hugs instead of gossip, and a smile instead of a frown.... Mizzgrizz
