Today's "diary snippet" is from 1917:

On October 1917, he notes that extra night watchmen were hired at the packing house because "the I.W.W. [Industrial Workers of the World] are setting fire to buildings"...

We met some fellow resellers at the post office this past week…

So nice meeting them both, and we’re excited to be joining their “Attic Crawl Raid Train” on the Whatnot app featuring Vintage Decor & Attic Finds.

Today's "diary snippet" is from 1918 where he (Leslie) often documents Automobile Culture and some Epic Road Trips. He provides a fascinating look at the grueling reality of early 20th-century road trips.

Leslie takes massive cross-country drives. These trips are defined by constant mechanical struggles: he frequently deals with boiling radiators, blown-out tires, "treacherous" muddy detours, and driving on sandy or cobblestone roads...

In this snippet he talks about where he survives a dramatic accident in 1918 when another driver smashed into their car, causing it to skid into a cement block and turn "over once & a half," though miraculously no one was seriously injured.
