💙Monday Minute: One Mine, Three Personalities

Turquoise isn’t just “blue.”
And one of the best examples is Kingman Turquoise.

Look at the first photo. All three of these stones are Kingman, yet they couldn’t look more different:

💙 Bright, clean blue with dramatic brown matrix
💙 Golden-brown matrix with a more earthy, greenish-blue color
💙 Almost electric blue with subtle matrix

The color and matrix can vary tremendously depending on where within a deposit the turquoise formed. That’s part of what makes natural turquoise so fascinating—and why no two pieces are ever exactly alike.

Royston Turquoise — famous for its beautiful range of greens, blues, and golden-brown matrix.

Dry Creek Turquoise — often recognized for its distinctive pale, almost icy blue to blue-gray color and delicate matrix.
✨ When you wear turquoise you’re not just wearing a color. You’re wearing a piece of the earth.

Which one would you choose: Kingman, Royston, or Dry Creek? 💙

✨ Feature Friday: What is Shadowbox Jewelry?

One of the most recognizable styles in Native American jewelry is shadowbox work—but many people aren’t sure what that actually means.

Shadowbox jewelry is created by building the design in layers. A sheet of oxidized (darkened) silver is placed beneath the turquoise, while a raised silver frame surrounds the stone. The dark background creates depth and contrast, making the turquoise appear to almost “float” above the silver.

One of the reasons I love shadowbox jewelry is the way it draws your eye straight to the turquoise while showcasing the silversmith’s craftsmanship. It’s bold, timeless, and unmistakably handcrafted.

Which style speaks to you most?

💙 The three-stone pendant
💙 The classic round shadowbox Ring
💙 The Belt Buckle

🤍 Monday Minute: The Art of Native American Beadwork 🤍

At first glance, you see a beautiful beaded necklace. But look a little closer, and you’ll see hours—sometimes days—of incredible artistry.

Every tiny glass seed bead is stitched into place one bead at a time, creating patterns that often reflect tribal traditions, family heritage, nature, or personal expression.

The necklace shown here features a classic Thunderbird design, one of the most recognized symbols in Native American art. The Thunderbird is often associated with strength, protection, power, and the connection between the earth and the spirit world.

✨ Which detail catches your eye first—the Thunderbird, the geometric patterns, or the flowing fringe? Let me know in the comments!

Monday Minute: Why Stamped Silver Never Goes Out of Style

Some jewelry follows trends. Handmade Navajo silver creates them.

Take a closer look at this necklace. Every stamped bead was crafted by hand—not poured from a mold or mass-produced. The geometric stamp work, the soft satin finish, and the touches of turquoise are hallmarks of traditional Navajo silversmithing.

One of my favorite things about handcrafted jewelry is that it carries the artist’s touch. Tiny variations aren’t imperfections—they’re proof that a skilled silversmith shaped each piece by hand.

When you wear authentic Native American jewelry, you’re wearing generations of craftsmanship, culture, and artistry.

Wear It Wednesday 🤍

One of the questions I hear most often is, “How do I style Navajo pearls?”

The answer? Layer them.

Navajo pearls are timeless because they work with everything—from a crisp white shirt and jeans to a simple black dress. Mixing different lengths creates dimension without feeling overdone, and adding a small sterling pendant gives the look just the right finishing touch.

The best jewelry isn’t saved for special occasions…it’s worn often and becomes part of your signature style.

These are just a little different take on the traditional Navajo Pearl and great for Men too…

✨ Would you wear these every day or save them for special occasions?

💙 Turquoise Tuesday 💙

Did you know that not all turquoise looks the same?

One of the things I love most about turquoise is that every mine tells its own story. Some stones are robin’s egg blue, some green, and others are filled with beautiful matrix patterns in black, brown, or even golden tones.

This piece brings together a variety of turquoise, each with its own character and history. Together they remind us that beauty isn’t found in being identical—it’s found in the unique story each stone has to tell.

✨ Which turquoise catches your eye most—the bright blues, the greens, or the heavily webbed stones? Let me know in the comments!

Monday Minute 🤍
One cuff is timeless. A stack tells a story.

Mix smooth sterling with turquoise, pair hand stamping with different stone sizes, and create a look that’s completely your own. Native American jewelry was made to be worn, loved, and passed down—not tucked away in a jewelry box.

✨ Which would you choose?

💙 Turquoise Tuesday

One of the questions I’m asked most often is, “What makes Number 8 turquoise so valuable?”

Number 8 turquoise was mined in Nevada and is prized for its vivid blue color and beautiful spiderweb matrix. The mine closed many years ago, so every authentic stone available today comes from old stock, making it especially collectible.

One of my favorite things about Number 8 is that no two stones are alike. Every piece tells its own story through its unique patterns and color.

Now I’d love to know…

💙 Do you prefer solid blue turquoise or the intricate spiderweb patterns of Number 8?
