I’m proud of how much I’ve improved since starting my brand. From my craftsmanship, to my office space, everything has gotten a ✨glow up✨ One skill in particular is my photography. Swipe for the before 🙈 It’s been so fun to learn new techniques and experiment in a different creative outlet. I can’t wait to see how different it’ll be in a year from now!

Contrary to popular belief, this business is not all rainbows and butterflies. I’ve had my fair share of highs and lows. I don’t always like to talk about the negatives, but it’s such an important part of the journey. It makes me cherish the highs that much more.
My highs are my big sell outs, including the one in this picture, Lottie 2.0. This is a favorite of mine and did so well. She sold out completely in a matter of 2 hours!
One of my lows, is having a “failed” drop. They happen every now and again and its always such a bummer! It’s hard putting my heart and should into a garment, only for it to sit on my rack. It’s a normal part of this job, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t sting a little!
Regardless of where I am, high or low, I try to take a step back and appreciate the lesson in the moment.

I had to make this dress twice because of mistakes I made. I cut the bodice wrong, I melted the lace with my iron, and I used the wrong size needle on this fabric 🫢 I’m still learning and a lot of my new skills are acquired through trial and error. You don’t know you can do it until you’ve tried! I’m so glad I persevered through this dress. It came out beautiful and made for some very special birthday memories 🤍

Did you know that I learned how to do this myself? It’s true, I’m mostly self taught. I took a couple of lessons on how to sew and work my way around a machine. And then dove head first into garment making. It’s one of the best gifts I gave myself.

Hi everyone 👋🏼 It’s me, Jill, the designer behind the brand Little Spring Chicken. I am a mom of two living in New England. I started this business 2.5 years ago amidst the pandemic, and have never looked back!
When I’m not at my sewing machine, you can find me reading, on my Peloton, soaking in a hot bath, or sipping on some red wine 😜

Mystery Box order reveal! This was one of my favorite fabrics I’ve ever had in my shop 🥹 It was part of one of my first big releases and I still have that dress on my rack in my studio. I was so glad I was able to use it again for a loyal customer of mine ☺️
