Black & Bone Millinery

Black & Bone Millinery Sumptuous silk, frothy chiffon, fluffy feathers and hats that stop people in the street- limited edition and bespoke creations handmade in Canada.

In the rolling forests of an ancient land, twin sisters were born. One, Margaret, a lover of classic beauty, rococo dresses, and fairy tales, dressed all in dusty blue taffetas and cream chiffons; the other, Margrethe, a connoisseur of the occult, the morbid, and the mysterious, dressed in dark red velvets and golden brocades. Together, the two sisters lived in their disparate interests under the

moonlit canopy, as mantua-makers and milliners to those creatures who shared their love of ethereal, extravagant clothing, the one thing they found in common. margaretmargrethe was born out of a desire to create elaborate, handmade headpieces in both limited runs and bespoke designs for lovers of grand headwear. From lo**tas to libertines, these hats range from historically inspired (lo**ta bonnets, pillboxes) to re-enactment accurate (Gainsborough hats, carriage bonnets, Edwardian hats) to original designs and novelties (witch hats and more), all lovingly handmade in Ontario, Canada.

I made this recently to match the Sepia version of BtSSB's Fragrant Rose Memories dress.

Materials:
Buckram and millinery wire, cream silk dupioni, golden brown french veiling, pink and dusty rose bias-cut silk ribbon, gold mini photo frame, artificial flowers

I can make this hat in any size (self-drafted patterns) and colourway, but please note that I use all vintage findings for decoration and trimmings, so stock on some colours and styles of trim may be limited!
