Today is my 18th wedding anniversary!! So in celebration I wanted to share some romance books that are on my TBR!

1. I met at BookCon and she is the SWEETEST human ever. So of course I bought all three of her books! I haven’t read a sports romance yet so I’m excited!

2. .laborn knows how I am trash for mafia dark romance. So he recommended this one for me!! I cannot wait!

3. Y’all know this one is a not brainer because of how much I STILL talk about Sangu Mandanna’s The Secret Society of Irregular Witches!!!

4. I’m not gonna lie. This cover sucked me in. Enemies to lovers? Close proximity? Yes and yes.

5. You’d have to be living under a rock to not know about this book! I wanna read it not just because of the hype and the amazing publishing story. The premise does intrigue me!!

I’ve written a post with 10 more romance recs I think you’d enjoy! Read slide 6 for more info!

Now tell me some of romances are your TBR today!!!

This Saturday (4/25) is !!

The most wonderful day of the year for book nerds! This is a time to celebrate indie bookstores in a myriad of ways!!!

Truth is our industry is HURTING. With the likes of the Zon, tariffs, book bans, cost of living…we are struggling, y’all.

If you’re looking at ways to help:

-purchases (duh)
-Libro.fm (search your bookstore)
-bookshop.org (search your bookstore)
-share posts
-word of mouth
-Patreon/Substack/etc. (many booksellers create content

I appreciate all of you that’s been supporting this little dream for the past 5.5 years. I want P&F to have longevity. I wanna be here next year and beyond.

Let’s stoodis, y’all!!!!

This dialogue is bonkers. 20k+ people across two days as one of the most prolific authors on n attendance?!?

Come on. These are human beings. Being bummed you didn’t have an exceptional interaction is valid. But we’ve gotta stop wanting people to perform for us.

And the way y’all talking about this Black woman across the interwebs is crossing a line that sounds a whole lot like patriarchy going “well you should smile more”.

Do better, community. I’m still recovering from BookCon and I had ONE panel.

04/21/2026

I made this while on the plane home. Each time I watch it I cry because WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS IS REAL LIFE??

I met so many of my heroes-and that includes folks who have been supporters of my work. I only got this opportunity because of you.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the very first all Indigenous panel at ! It was a huge honor to share space with both and and talk storytelling!

LOVED meeting , , .davenport, , & ! I know I’m missing a ton of folks but know I’m grateful for you.

I have to SCREAM all my love to for being such a great friend and pillar of support. They took a ton of photos and told everyone about my panel. I had such a great time with you!

Thanks to for inviting me to represent my people and carve out space for our stories.

I am so blessed. My cup is so full.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said, “I don’t deserve this.”

This year has been so hard. The bookstore isn’t doing well and I’ve felt like my dream is fading away.

But then doors open I could never imagine and I feel like Creator and the ancestors say, “let’s take the scenic route.”

I wouldn’t be here without you all. I’m so grateful for this community who believes in my work and what I do.

Thank you to Allison for keeping me company and fangirling with me!

Thanks to for sharing such a powerful story and being so freaking kind.

If you’re at my panel tomorrow begins at 2pm! I hope to see you there so we can talk about with and Monquill Blackgoose!

YA GIRL WAS INVITED TO BOOKCON!!

I am here in NYC because so many of you rallied to 1) Have BookCon listen to my pitch for an all Indigenous panel.

Which they did! Not only that but my panel was the first one they booked!

2) You guys also made it possible for me to be here.

I originally had to back out because of finances. The bookstore isn’t doing well and I can barely stay afloat.

The community wasn’t having that and you guys covered everything so I could be here.

This feels like a fairytale. I’ve traveled ONCE by myself somewhere and that was DC for one day. But NYC has been a dream experience since I was a little girl. I cried when I first flew over it and I’m just so freaking grateful to be here.

If you’re going to BookCon and you see me, please say hi!!!!

This is literally a dream come true.

Also: I DID THE SUBWAY ALL BY MYSELF FROM BROOKLYN TO MANHATTAN! If you know my struggle with anxiety you’d know this is huge!!!

Hey, everybody! It’s Michael & Dominique!

We have temporarily blocked Falencia from being able to see this post because we need to talk to y’all without her being nosy.

As you guys know, Falencia is having a launch party for Devil of the Deep tomorrow night in Chicago, at Call and Response Books. I have already conspired with Bindery to cover as much of Falencia’s party costs as possible on our budget, but I would love to be able to surprise her at the party with money to cover her hotel and travel costs, which was not cheap! Typically, that is something authors cover themselves, but boo. Ya know? So I’m conspiring with yall!

If anyone wants to throw a few dollars in, I’d love to give that to her right at the party and catch her reaction in a video to share with all of you!

If you want to put in on that surprise, I’m posting links below where you can send that, and just use the note feature to let me know your username if you’d like me to pass that along! Happy to share those with her for anyone who wants me to!

My (Michael) hope is that, as Bindery grows, that is something I can nudge us to include in the budget. But right now, It’s not doable. We’re too young of a company to host a dozen or more parties a year. But ONE DAY! We’ll get there!l

AND Y’ALL BETTER NOT TELL HER THAT WE’RE CONSPIRING!!!

This week's post we are featuring Non-Fiction stories by Trans Authors.

These stories are so precious during this time. So much of our legislation that is coming out is targeting the q***r community, especially our trans siblings. Hearing their stories will give us a greater understanding of what they are up against. And not just that, these non-fiction stories gives us beating hearts as the foundation for our advocacy.

Don’t hate me. But I couldn’t resist!

In all seriousness, this project has been in the works for AGES.

I’m still a ways from a preorder stage but I wanna take you along with me on this new journey.

This book is for all my people who’ve suffered the hands of purity culture, causing harm, confusion, and deep wounds connected to your identity.

This is a dark romance with a Native lead, who gets to explore herself, her desires, and the powers that seek to shape all of that.

And there’s also this really broody and morally grey guy who’s got the hots for her.

But there’s a message, y’all!!! 😆😆😆

Seriously, this is a way of telling some of my own story through the lens of a genre demonized by the same folks who hurt me.

Just in case anyone needed a reminder of what kind of person I am.

I don’t have a lot of spoons to be active here or even put effort in promoting my work.

Sometimes I don’t know how to add anything to the conversation. There are people more educated and experienced in being a source of information about this hellscape.

But do not believe that I am fading or going silent. The spoons aren’t plentiful but I’m still in it with y’all.

I might not have words all the time but there are people who do and need our support.

Books fall into this category. Scroll to the end to see a sale for a book that supports both and .laborn.

I’m having a sale too, just because. No code needed.

Thank y’all for being here.
