I am so exhausted but my cup is hella full!

BOOKPALOOZA was a BLAST! I’m so honored I got to be part of this and I’ll definitely be spamming photos and such throughout the day!

My sister Deidre Mallow and my kiddo Cass got to see me in my element and it made the day special!

Finally got to meet Cierra I Lettering Artist after YEARS of being online friends!

Got to hug C. M. Lockhart for the second time in two months!

Met Carter Pugh, Leya Layne - Romance Author, Talis Jones, E.R. Belle | Author, Freelance Digital Illustrator, and JON|O and got books from all of them! (Haul to come!)

Go show these indie authors some love!

These events are so important. Even with the rain, I think this event was pretty darn amazing. The organizers worked hard to present an event that uplifted marginalized voices in a climate where there’s so much pushback.

This obsession with blood quantum and phenotype is aiding in the erasure of Indigenous people.

Period.

Our children get a solid foundation of who they are in the home. If we as parents are not solid on who we are, we will pass that insecurity down and society will weaponize that against them. (Ask me how I know).

Even with physically being disconnected from your people, there’s still opportunities to grow up connected. Do not give in the idea you just LOOK a certain way to embrace the heritage of people who fought to survive FOR YOU.

I don’t k oh if you’re aware: but women’s healthcare is sacred.

That is why I am honored to be partnering with Bindery and Left Unread Books on the release of Buzzard by the amazing Inez Ray!

I did a full review on this book already (it’s in the 🔗 in my bio) and how much I want people to read it

However in short, this is a near-future dystopian about reproductive autonomy. It’s going to feel eerie and far too familiar. But it is powerful.

And now we get to make a BIG impact because of this book!

Bindery is donating $50 to the Carolina Abortion Fund in honor of our participation, plus $5 for each of the first 20 copies preordered from my shop by 9/27.

NC is one of the last states in the South that has access to this care. Let’s support their work.

I would do anything for the fall vibes we had in elementary school.

Crisp air, an orangey tint to the world, binging Goosebumps and Scary Stories to tell in the dark while eating those little pumpkin candies at the classroom Halloween party.

I can’t really recreate that but this book comes close to giving me the nostalgia I’ve been craving.

I MADE FRIENDS!!!!

I got to hang out with my long time bestie as well as meet online friends and create new ones.

-I guess Michael LaBorn is pretty cool 🤣

- Neka Marie | Author and Joy Enthusiast is as much fun as you would think she is!

- Emma is such a delight and I had a blast hanging out with her and her daughter!

- Meeting krystal lang was like meeting an old friend! I could have chatted with her for hours. And yes, she’s just as pretty in person!

There were a ton of authors I got to hang with and my inner child is still so excited.

Shelf Life Books is an amazing bookstore with such a great selection of marginalized authors. Plus they have the CUTEST bookstore kitties!!!

Resist Booksellers is doing AMAZING work. Their space is also absolutely gorgeous. If you’re in Petersburg, VA you MUST go. Even if you’re not, go follow their page and show some love!
