From the very first idea back in December to finally seeing the Sona skirt and Diya cardigan come to life, so many of you have been part of this journey with me.

You’ve watched the prototypes, the fabric challenges, the changes in direction, the factory updates, the fit tweaks, the late night mockups, and all the moments when I wondered if this idea would ever make it to the finish line.

And through every step, the SaaRii community showed up. You voted on colors, patterns, silhouettes, skirt lengths and styling. You shared your opinions so openly, celebrated the little wins with me, and encouraged me to keep going when things didn’t work out the way I had hoped.

What started as one sweater dress concept slowly evolved into something completely different, and I think that makes Sona + Diya even more special. They truly feel like pieces we created together.

Thank you for trusting the process, for caring about the details, and for helping me shape SaaRii one decision at a time. Seeing these pieces finally available for preorder feels a little emotional after everything it took to get here. 🙏🏻❤️

So many new faces here, so I thought I’d reintroduce myself.

I’m Sujata, Founder + Designer of SaaRii. After 25 plus years designing fashion in New York, I started over in my 50s to build something of my own.

SaaRii is my way of reimagining the Indian textiles I grew up loving for how we dress today, and in small batches.

Still learning. Still figuring it out. And so grateful you’re here for the journey.

One of my favorite parts of this entrepreneurial journey has been meeting incredible women founders who genuinely cheer each other on.
