In celebration of Team USA Men’s and Women’s Hockey 2026 Gold Medals, William Quigley, a hockey player since age 9, created Gold Save, depicting Connor Hellebuyck’s epic paddle save against Team Canada. To mark the 2-1 victory and 46 years since the 1980 Lake Placid gold, the painting will evolve toward completion, with a two-print suite documenting its progress. Each Gold Save suite comprises 46 prints, offered individually at $460 or as a set of two for $800, honoring Team USA’s last gold in 1980, with prices rising sequentially as the edition sells. Art Collectors and sports enthusiasts are advised to acquire prints early, as prices will increase and the edition is strictly limited. The original canvas will be auctioned and offered through The Bonnier Gallery, opening at $46,000 with a reserve of $80,000. Politically motivated, the painting draws on the influences of Ellsworth Kelly, Robert Ryman, Joan Mitchell, Amy Sherald, and Norman Rockwell, offering a symbol of hope for national unity.
A portion of proceeds will support The John and Matthew Gaudreau Foundation, U.S. youth hockey programs, and families affected by tragedy and drunk driving, honoring John and Matty’s legacies.
