Endrika is the first bag I designed last year for Faces of the Earth. Now, it comes in a new look!

Endrika, meaning “form” or “identity” in Malagasy, reflects the ways we come to know ourselves and one another through shape, presence and expression. It speaks to the visible and invisible elements that define who we are, carrying traces or memory, culture, ancestry and experience.

ATUM & LOTUS

In Egyptian cosmology, ATUM emerged from the primordial waters as the force of creation, while the LOTUS flower rises from the water each morning to greet the sun, symbolizing renewal, awakening and rebirth!

Inspired by ancient archetypes of protection, wisdom, beauty, and power, Bastet, Athena, Aphrodite, Ma’at, Isis and Sekhmet join the growing family of Faces of the Earth.

Their stories take shape through hand-woven architectural forms, which are hand-embroidered with imagery drawn from my original artworks.

I didn’t just design this. I listened.

This piece begins handwoven in raffia, then marked with my artwork through embroidery. What emerges is something felt. A quiet intensity that holds memory, protection, and presence all at once.
