The oldest board game
The first board game known to mankind is the ancient Egyptian Senet, which originated around 3500 BC. Outwardly, it resembled chess, but it had completely different rules. Senet consisted of a playing board, divided into 3 rows of squares, and two types of playing figures - cones and cylinders. Any move was determined using analogues of dice, namely wooden sticks. Each player had five figures. The squares on the board symbolized various sacred actions that a person must go through on the way to the otherworldly kingdom. The goal of the game was to withdraw all your chips and prevent your opponent from doing so.
