Day in the Life of Ms. Diggs

People know me as the jeweler, but what you don’t always see is everything that happens behind the scenes.

This is my friend Zach. He’s from Basra, Iraq, and whenever I need laser welding done, this is where I go. He’s located at 55 W. 47th Street, in the basement, right here in New York City’s Diamond District.

I’ve been coming to Zach for almost 15 years. He’s an incredible jeweler, but even better, he’s a genuinely good person.

One of my favorite parts of stopping by is practicing my Arabic with him. He speaks Arabic fluently, and I speak just enough to get myself into trouble. Most of the time we’re laughing because we’re saying complete nonsense to each other—but somehow we both understand exactly what’s going on. 😂

The Diamond District isn’t just about jewelry. It’s about the relationships you build over decades.

People ask me all the time, “Who is Ms. Diggs?”

The truth is… I’m a lot of things.

• A student.
• A teacher.
• A jeweler.
• A model.
• A mom.
• A sister.
• A daughter.
• A wife.
• A friend.
• A bestie.
• A boss.
• A hustler.
• To some people, I’m the ops. 😏

That’s what makes a Day in the Life of Ms. Diggs so interesting. Every day brings a different role, a different challenge, and another story from the Diamond District.

Someone stopped me on the streets of New York City today and said “Miss Diggs” 💎

I turned around like wait. How do you know me? He said he knows me from Instagram. The grillz. The content. Diamond Dazzler.

Mama I made it 🗽

His name is Evan and he was the sweetest. We stopped right there on the way to the diamond district and made content together. But Evan I have to be honest with you. Those earrings have got to go.

And I am not just talking about the dirt. I am talking about the size. Evan those diamonds are so small that even if I deep cleaned them for an hour straight it would not make a difference. Here is why. Diamonds reflect light off their surface. The bigger the diamond the more surface area there is for light to enter bounce around and shoot back out as that dazzle you are looking for. When the diamond is too small there is not enough surface area for that to happen. You get a little twinkle. A little sprinkle. But you do not get the bling bling. You do not get the dazzle. And Evan deserves the dazzle.

So I am sending Evan a free Diamond Dazzler jewelry cleaning kit AND a brand new pair of diamond earrings in the mail. Because he stopped for me on the street like it was nothing and that meant everything.
