KREWE is a New Orleans-based and culturally inspired independent eyewear company that celebrates individual style with modern, iconic frames. Origin of the Name: Historically, the term "krewe" (ˈkrü) is linked to Mardi Gras, a tradition that is uniquely New Orleanian. It attempts to define the diverse group that comes together to parade in celebration of the Carnival season. Our name invokes this

spirit of creative collaboration. Our company was founded by Stirling Barrett, a New Orleans artist and creative entrepenur. His vision of the city as a thriving cultural hub was the inspiration for his launching KREWE in 2013. Our team passionately believes in spreading the culture of New Orleans and its celebration of individual style, one frame at a time.

Honored to join Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America for The United Flags of Fashion, a celebration of America250 inviting more than 100 designers to reimagine the flags of every U.S. state and territory.

Pictured here, a quilt bringing together the many flags featured across the project——a reflection of the creativity and craftsmanship behind this collective effort.

Entrusted with Louisiana, we created a tribute to our roots through a distinctly KREWE lens. A reflection of the place, culture, and individuality that continues to shape our perspective.

The flags will be unveiled at Rockefeller Center on July 27 and fly above the iconic rink through September 4.
