A package from Merino Bewool arrived today, all the way from Argentina.

Inside was this beautiful fi*****ng-weight merino. It feels incredibly soft, and the natural colour is even more beautiful in person.

I still have to finish the project that’s currently on my needles before casting on anything new, but this yarn has already sparked a few ideas. My plan is to keep the design simple and let the yarn speak for itself.
Since it’s a fi*****ng weight, I’m planning to hold it double to create a DK-weight fabric with a little more structure.

If you haven’t come across Merino Bewool before, go and check them out. I really enjoyed learning about their story as a family-run company from Patagonia and their commitment to Merino wool.

I’m not a huge fan of tutorial reels because there often isn’t enough time to explain a technique properly and in depth. That said, they can still be really useful when you just want to show how something is done!

I wasn’t actually planning to film this reel, but since I needed to seam the sleeve anyway, I thought it would be nice to share part of the process.

Because I didn’t go into much detail in the reel, here’s a bit more information.

- I use mattress stitch from the right side of the fabric, and I always use the same yarn as the project, as long as it’s strong enough to keep the seam neat and secure.
- I also recommend steam-blocking (or steam-pressing) the knitted pieces before seaming. It may not change the final result if you’re already experienced, but it will definitely make the process easier
- As I mention in the reel, I like to make the sleeve cap about 1 cm (⅜ inch) shorter than the armhole. I find it much easier to ease in a slightly smaller sleeve cap than to deal with excess fabric. I find that if it's sewn properly to the armhole, it'll fit perfectly.
- I really like to make the decrease lines visible, so I worked the decreases 5 stitches in from the edge. Of course, that’s just my personal preference.

I hope this will be helpful if you’d like to give it a try. And if you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments!

Isn’t knitting stripes fun? I honestly love it more than I ever thought I would.

I’ve never really been a stripes kind of knitter, but I’ve had so much fun working on all these striped sweaters lately. Working with bold colours has completely changed the way I think about stripes. I often like to break strong colours down into smaller accents and embroidered details, helping to soften the overall visual impact and create a more balanced conversation between colour, texture and pattern.

They’ll all be published later this year, so keep an eye out. I’ll keep you posted!

Yarn: Cascade Yarns

I told you I was getting fond of this try-on video! 😌

I had never knitted a T-shirt before… well, technically I had, but never one with all the little details and finishing touches that make it feel like a real T-shirt. Isn't this cool?

I hadn't even properly blocked it when I tried it on, but I think you can already see its potential!

I absolutely love it.

This baby isn't for me, though, it's for a publication coming out later this summer. So keep an eye out for the pattern, because it's going to be a fun one to knit!

After a few years away, I’m really happy to be back at on November 14–15!

I’m excited to bring my Intarsia workshops, sponsored by , featuring ALL the techniques I used to design my pattern POPknit (and some new tricks and tricks 😏). And yes, the pattern is included in the class!

But it’s not all about Intarsia. I’ll also be teaching a workshop that many of you have been asking for: Blackwork Embroidery in wool sponsored by .arg .
It’s a fun and versatile embroidery technique that can be reinterpreted in endless colour combinations and applied in so many creative ways.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

First fitting, and so far everything checks out!
Not sure I still like working stripes though… I feel like my (short) stripes era might be coming to an end!

I always like to steam block the project before I join it to work in the round. It helps the fabric relax, evens out the tension and makes it much easier to see how the garment is going to fit on your shoulders before everything gets joined together.
Just something quick!

And do you do it as well?
