Hand draping a Galette brim in canvas to then transfer to paper to create a pattern (template) to then cut and sew in canvas 🤪 (first rough draft in second pic)
Hat making is mostly a very slooooow process especially when creating a new shape from scratch. If you could create a novel and wearable hat shape what would it look like???

I’ve spent much of February taking note of what I wish I had this frigid snowy winter to better plan for the next one but I’ve also been spending a bunch of time coming up with new shapes and concepts for the spring and summer. Most of my new styles emerge as I build them, mostly improvisatory or I imagine the shape and create a 2d/flat paper pattern (I love pattern making ❤️) to translate into 3d. I seldom sketch out ideas but I’m having fun doing it this season-sometimes your pencil wants to do something you wouldn’t have imagined any other way. Let’s see what happens…..
