Made of military specified nylon oxford, the WEP USN/USMC Bomber Jacket was a favorite among the fighter pilots of the U.S. Navy and the United States Marine Corps during the 1950s, 60s and 70s.

Today, this jacket can be styled casually with a pair of jeans for a night out in the city… or at least that’s how former USAF Thunderbird Pilot and USAF Weapons School graduate and instructor John “Slick” Baum likes to wear it!

Today’s Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, California is best known for the Naval Air Station Miramar, the former location of the United States Navy Fighter Weapons School, its TOPGUN training program and the renowned movie of the same name.

The TOPGUN training program was established in 1969 and is known worldwide for honing the skills of some of the best pilots to take to the skies. During the height of TOPGUN at NAS Miramar, the station was nicknamed “Fightertown USA”.

With open cockpit fighters in mind, this sheepskin flight jacket was originally designed for the Royal Air Force (R.A.F) in 1937 with very thick shearling.
