For Lonna, Nurse Shyanne Brandon has been the person who understood before she had to explain.

She understood why returning to the infusion center after COVID felt scary. She understood why weekly care was not optional. She understood that being able to make it to an appointment once does not mean her body can do it every week.

And when Lonna’s son, Karter, began needing weekly infusions too, Shyanne cared for him with the same patience and gentleness.

Some nurses become part of your story in ways you never forget.

For Erica, that nurse is Jen P.

At her infusion center, Nurse Jen P. became the person Erica could count on during some of the hardest parts of her chronic illness journey. She advocated for her needs, made difficult IV days feel less scary, brought humor into heavy moments, and knew how to step in before Erica even had the words to ask for help.

Erica jokes that Jen P. is the “world’s okayest nurse” because of a badge reel she once wore, but she is so much more than that.

This Nurses Week, we’re honored to celebrate Nurse Jen P. and the nurses who make healthcare feel a little less overwhelming, one moment at a time. 💙

“The small things Tuyen did mattered more than she probably realizes. They helped me get through some of my hardest days, and she will always have a special space in my heart.” — Anita

For Nurses Week, we’re sharing Anita’s story and honoring Nurse Tuyen, the nurse who made one of the hardest seasons of Anita’s health journey feel a little less lonely.

After spinal surgery, Anita was rebuilding her strength, relearning how to walk, and trying to process how quickly life had changed. Through it all, Tuyen noticed the little things. The quiet moments. The hard days. The parts Anita didn’t always know how to say out loud.

Her care reminded Anita that she was still herself beyond the hospital room.
