Giving My Wife Her Flowers 💐 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
There is something powerful about building beside the person you love, especially when you both see the same possibilities before everyone else can see them.
Lynette, I want to give you your flowers for the creativity, leadership, sacrifice, and extraordinary vision you poured into Newark Fashion Night Out.
What makes me most proud is knowing that the vision you brought to this production is connected to a larger vision we both share for Newark.
We see a Newark where fashion belongs.
Where our creatives are given real platforms.
Where our designers, artists, entrepreneurs, models, stylists, and cultural innovators don’t have to leave their city to be recognized.
Where Newark isn’t simply invited into the conversation, we create the conversation.
We have always believed that Newark deserves experiences that reflect the brilliance, culture, style, history, and creativity that already live here.
And this production was another glimpse of that vision becoming real.
I watched you work behind the scenes, the long hours, the decisions, the problem-solving, the pressure, and the determination to make sure the vision translated into an experience people could feel.
And you delivered.
As your wife, your partner, and someone who shares this creative journey with you, I couldn’t be prouder. We may bring different gifts to the table, but the vision is shared.
We see what Newark is.
And more importantly, we see what Newark can become.
So today, I’m giving you your flowers, my love.
For your creativity.
For your courage.
For your commitment.
For believing in our city.
And for continuing to build alongside me toward the vision we both see.
This is bigger than one night.
