ABOUT THE COUPLE

“Kyle and I met during freshman year through mutual friends (who ended up being my roommate for the next 2 years) He offered me Panera Bread for lunch the next day, and we saw each other and talked to each other everyday since then. As time moved on, he got me a pet cat named Toasty and later a dog named Juno, which sealed the deal. We wanted to make our family official so he planned a special surprise for me on my family’s lake trip late July. He told me we should take a hike because it was nice outside, which was my first hint. We drove about 30 minutes to HahaTanka State Park. As we arrived it felt nice in the shaded trees, but as we walked for not even 5 min it started sprinkling. I thought “we shouldn’t keep walking because I didn’t want to get down poured on”, but he was persistent. We walked about 10 more minutes, and at that point the rain is absolutely pouring! We get to an overlook where he proposed to me on one knee in the rain! Of course I said yes!! My 2 sisters were hiding in the back, to whom set it up and were taking pictures and videos secretly. While we were giddy, we wanted to pack up and run back because the storm was still going strong. Not a minute after we get in our car, the rain abruptly stopped and the sun came back out. We drove home to a surprise engagement party with my family. Fast forward, we aremarried for a month, living in a small house with our small family, and life couldn’t be more perfect.”

“You are not on your own. Friends and family WANT to help, they usually just don’t know what to do. Give them tasks. If people offer to help support/ pay say yes. They wouldn’t offer if they weren’t serious or didn’t want to help. It will ease your mind a lot.”

“We met at a Greek life philanthropy event at Murray State University! Bradley and I were randomly paired as dance partners for the event and he asked me out on a date afterwards. For the proposal, he took me back to the location where we met, played a video of all of our pictures together, and then popped the question! He also surprised me with my closest friends in the room and then a bunch of our good friends at dinner afterwards!”
