I had so much fun on Saturday teaching the t-shirt fitting and sewing class at Grant House Sewing Machines in Santa Barbara!
Students learned how to measure their bodies for a sewing pattern, how to make Palmer/Pletsch Tissue Fitting alterations for a perfect fit, and how to sew their own t-shirts from start to finish. I'm so proud of all the students!

Sleeves can be one of the most challenging parts of garment construction. Getting them to fit properly can be tricky, and setting them in can be even trickier. That said, fitting and setting sleeves properly is essential for creating a garment that looks and feels its best. When sleeves are too tight, they can be uncomfortable and restrict movement. When they're too loose, they can look sloppy and impede movement. And when they're not set in properly, they can pucker or bunch up. In my latest blog post, I share my tips for fitting sleeves.
