🤍 "The Thing" 🤍
This weekend at the 100X Barrel Race & Worship Event, LeAnn Hart shared a message that has stayed with me.
She shared about something she had been dealing with this week while fixing fence on the farm she and her husband live on. As she talked, I couldn't help but smile because I hated fixing fence too.
Then she said something that really made me think.
The fence isn't the problem.
The problem is the cow that keeps pushing through the fence, convinced the grass is greener on the other side. All the while, it overlooks the good pasture, fresh water, and feed that has already been provided where it is.
How often are we like that?
We spend so much time looking beyond the boundaries God has lovingly placed in our lives that we miss the blessings He's already given us. Those boundaries aren't there to keep us from something better—they're often there to protect us and guide us.
LeAnn also talked about "the thing." The thing that frustrates us, stretches us, or leaves us asking, "Why, Lord?"
What if that "thing" isn't standing in the way of God's plan? What if it is part of His plan?
Before we were ever created, God already knew every joy, every disappointment, every weakness, every failure, and every trial we would face. None of it caught Him by surprise. He has already woven it into His perfect plan, and He can use every part of our story for His glory.
Sometimes the very thing we wish God would take away is the very thing He is using to shape us into who He created us to be.
"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." — Ephesians 2:10
Do you have a "thing" that God may be using to shape you?
Thank you, LeAnn Hart, for sharing a message that reminded me to trust the Shepherd, even when I don't understand the fence. 🤍🙏
