Ahyakee Made I sew kuspuks and kuspuk vests in a variety of different sizes and styles for women, men, and childr My name is Rene "Kununachak Ahyakee" Merchant.

I was born and raised in Nome, Alaska. Kununachak is my name given to me by my great grandma who we called Ahna. Ahyakee was her name, and is also my name given to me by grandam Irene. I learned to sew from my grandma Irene "Aglavaluk" Merchant (Oman). She has been my inspiration to keep in touch with Inupiaq traditions. I have taken quite a bit of time off from selling any of my work in order to improve on my skills, but I am back at it and ready to get started!
